RnR, based in Cairns, is Australia’s White Water Rafting
specialist. With experience since 1986, RnR has established
a reputation synonymous with safety, service and above all,
fun.
The company was formed in 1986 by Chris Sykes and his
girlfriend Paula Fursman. The couple had met whilst river
guiding together in New Zealand, where they met another Aussie,
Dave Wilson. Together they recognised the potential of
rafting in Tropical North Queensland, and pioneered rafting
on the Tully in 1985.
The company has since changed hands several times, and
was purchased by Pip and Charles
Woodward in 2004. The Woodward family have locally owned and operated two
major tourism operators in the region, Rainforestation
Nature Park and Tropic Wings, since 1976 and 1981
respectively.
In 2005, the Woodwards launched a new group name for the several companies they owned - The CaPTA Group, standing for Cairns and Port Trips & Attractions. The same year they purchased adventure touring company Jungle Tours, which now sits under alongside RnR White Water Rafting under the RnR Adventures banner.
In 2007, Pip and Charles sold RnR Adventures to one of their sons, Peter Woodward, and his wife Jaclyn. Continuing in the spirit of a family owned and operated business, RnR Adventures remains part of The CaPTA Group.
